Get in Touch

Stephens County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Direct those needs to the public office that holds the record.

Official Stephens County contacts

For a current-custody question, a specific booking record, or a jail-held photograph, begin with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Kevin Roach is named on the county’s official page. No separate records unit, public records hours, booking-photo request form, or booking-photo fee is published in the reviewed county material.

Written booking-record requests

Send a narrow written Texas Public Information Act request to the Sheriff’s Office for the named person, booking number if known, booking or arrest date, agency, charge or count, photo, and release or transfer information. Ask for nonexempt portions and the statutory basis for any withholding. Texas Government Code Chapter 552, including Sections 552.021 and 552.108(c), supplies the public-records framework. Records should be produced promptly or the office should give written availability notice when they cannot be produced within ten business days, but a complex request is not guaranteed to close in that period. No Stephens-specific fee is published, so request a cost estimate before accepting a charge.

Courts and city records

For case status or disposition, use the office connected to the court record: County Clerk Jackie Ensey, 254-559-3700; District Clerk Stephanie Elder, 254-559-3151; or Justice of the Peace Steve Spoon, 254-559-5322. The District Clerk is at Stephens County Courthouse, 200 West Walker, Breckenridge, TX 76424, fax 254-559-8127.

For a Breckenridge Police Department or other city record, use the City Secretary’s public-information route: Jennifer Sutter, jsutter@breckenridgetx.gov; fax 254-559-7322; Attn: City Secretary, 105 N Rose Avenue, Breckenridge, TX 76424. The city says it strives to furnish approved information within ten working days. This route does not replace a request to the Sheriff when the jail holds the booking file.

The appropriate place to look depends on the person’s custody state and the record needed.
